Hi, it’s me again!! I was SO fired up and naive when I started a Substack - so confident that I would naturally come up with really great topics and TIPS and FACTS to share with you guys. I think I’m getting a little paralyzed by it all!
So breaking up my “series” by giving you a little behind the scenes on what’s going on with me. It’s been about a month since launching this Substack and really “going for it” with my consulting business. And this has been a busy month!
A few updates from the last month:
CLIENTS!!
I somehow have clients!! Like a bunch of them!! I feel incredibly lucky but I also know that running and a business and entrepreneurship is a rollercoaster. There will be times where I’m sure I’ll feel like the ultimate loser and have no one to work with and other times (like now) where I feel so energized and excited to take on work.
VIRTUAL ASSISTANT
With multiple calendars and to-do lists and inboxes and contacts - I decided to hire a virtual assistant (see previous post)…. and let me tell you: game. changer. I am obsessed with her and my life is already so much more streamlined and organized. I was spending so much time trying to schedule meetings.. you know that dreaded back and forth of “what time works?” and then inevitably double-booking myself… To have Lanae help me is incredible. Plus, it’s so nice to have someone so wonderful be on my team :)
TRAVEL
I got to go to Cabot Citrus Farms for work!! It was so fun to get out of Boston for a few days and check out their new course just outside of Tampa. I have really gotten more into golf in the past year and loved playing the par-3 while learning about the property!! And when I say “gotten more into golf” I do not mean I’ve gotten good at golf. I have just started to enjoy it and give myself more time to play. More to come there!

A WEBSITE (in the works)
If you read my first Substack I talked about my upcoming rinky-dink website I was building myself. Well, good thing I’ve worked with Kate Zeitler for years and years… she reached out and now my homemade rinky-dink site will never see the light of day. Instead, Kate and her team are building me an incredible website that I am so excited to launch! I am also really excited to work with my favorites of all time, Henry & Mac, on a photoshoot for some fresh headshots of yours truly. They were our wedding photogs and I’ve glommed onto them ever since :)
I’m still figuring out my place on Instagram! It was so easy for me to share my life in between posts about knit hats. But now that I am just sharing my life - similar to this Substack… I’m like why the hell would anyone care? But then I post something that’s totally random and personal and I connect with so many of you, so it keeps me going!! If you follow me there, thanks for bearing with me while I find my voice and point of view again. I also really made myself LOL last weekend with my “bit” about being naptrapped > Skiing. It got 35k views!!
TYPES OF CLIENTS
I am having so much fun taking on work outside of the knit hat industry. I am currently working with a golf course, an alcohol brand, a corporate gifting business, horses(!), and a few others. No client is the same and my role is really different with all of them -stepping in as a salesperson, a partnerships expert, a fractional CMO, or a business coach. I love that I’m leaning into the things that I really love to do and hopefully making an impact on businesses that I really believe in!
LIFE
I know this seems to have nothing to do with my BTS consulting post… but one thing I really put to the side while building STIK was my health. I never took the time to work out, I skipped breakfast and bought lunch every day, and I was super stressed. Prioritizing my health certainly takes time but the way I feel physically and mentally, the energy I have to play with my girls, and clothes fitting better is a worthwhile pay-off! I am loving having time to schedule in workouts with Luke, eating a sh*tload of protein, and walking a lot. Don’t make fun of me, but I even bought a weighted vest the other day and I have to admit it was HARD. I did a 60 min walk and that 12 lbs really added up!
So anyway, a big goal of mine is to head into the spring/summer feeling extra good. Going to really commit to tracking my macros ON THE WEEKENDS (I tend to go off the rails) and see where it takes me.
Ok that’s all for now! Next week is Spring Break and I can’t wait to go somewhere WARM!!!! I’ll keep you guys posted.
XO
Christina
